Hong Kong is a Golfers Paradise: GGHK2022’s Tips for Players

For almost a quarter century, the Gay Games have gained a prominent name in the world of sports, free of discrimination against race, gender, sexual orientation, age, and sporting abilities. The Gay Games Hong Kong 2022(#GGHK2022) bid holds an extensive variety of games and events; more than any Gay Games has before! Among the exciting range of sporting events proposed is Golf, an international sport that began in Scotland and is popular throughout the world. Participants can play as individuals as well as members of a team.
Here are a few tips for beginners:

  • Take Initiative: If you are new to golf, and are serious about learning how to play, schedule lessons with a pro right away! It is always best to seek out a professional- one trained to teach the game, and answer all your questions.
  • Set Up a Range Routine: When you go to the driving range, resist the temptation to immediately start ripping drivers. Start slow and steady by warming up with half-swings. Then increase the length and speed of your swings, and move on to your middle irons.- steadily working your way up to the driver. This will help you keep your tempo and tension level in check.
  • The Basics: Overwhelmed by too much info? Go back to basics. Relax and get yourself into a good setup, checking your ball position and posture. Now make a relaxed swing all the way to a full finish. Over-thinking creates tension, so always be aware of your stress level.
