For these glazed pork chops you’ll make a basic rub out of brown sugar and spices. The brown sugar turns into a nice sweet glaze, that can really be paired with whatever herbs and spices you prefer. Here, we went for a little spice with cayenne and black pepper, then rounded the flavours out with paprika and garlic. Simply add salt and pepper to taste and you’re all set! This meat recipe is super easy and very tasty.
Ingredients
4 Scan pork chops
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp cayenne
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp each salt and pepper -- or to taste.
4 Tbsp. brown sugar
Olive or Canola oil
Directions
In a bowl, combine the paprika, cayenne, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Rub the mixed spices all over your pork chops.
Heat a tbsp or two of olive or canola oil in your saute pan until hot, then add the Scan pork chops. Sear for 3-5 minutes on each side, or until browned. Once browned add 1 tbsp brown sugar to each pork chop. Turn each pork chop over, and ensure that both sides get a little melted brown sugar on them. (Don’t add the brown sugar too early or else the sugar may burn)
Bake at 350˚F/ 175˚C for 15 minutes, to make sure the pork chops are cooked through. We recommend baking your Scan pork until the internal temperature reaches 65°C / 145°F (with a light pink center) followed by a 3-minute rest time.
Just before serving, pour some of the thick sauce in the bottom of the pan over your pork chops and serve with your vegetables of choice.
