2017 Summer Festival and Performance Tour by Asian Youth Orchestra





Asian Youth Orchestra has maintained its reputation for being the world-class orchestra of 100 energetic young artists from across Asia. Every student is of special importance to the Asian Youth Orchestra (AYOHK) as they’re trained directly under the supervision of artistic director and conductor, Richard Pontzious, to perform on a global platform. These gems are picked from all over Asia to join AYOHK on their musical journey across the globe!

Like every year, Asian Youth Orchestra presents concert-goers with enchanting performances at the AYOHK Summer Festival in Hong Kong. This year, the Summer Festival will be held in Hong Kong from 2-24 July. The Tour Repertoire consists of Program A and B, which will be led by Richard Pontzious and the principal conductor James Judd. Under their guidance, musical masterpieces from famous musicians will be experienced in the orchestra, such as Beethoven, Shostakovich, Bruch, and Mahler among others.

After the Summer Festival, the Asian Youth Orchestra will bring out its series of performances in the form of the World Tour Performance, which is scheduled from July 25th to September 5th. AYO is expected to perform in Beijing, Hong Kong, Chiayi City, Tokyo, San Jose, Vienna, North Carolina, New York, Milan, Bassano del Grappa, Toulouse (France), Spain, Naples, Luzern, Berlin, Prague, and Brussels. It is a guarantee that the audience will highly be entertained by the masters at these concerts.

Be sure to attend an Asian Youth Orchestra concert this summer! Every year the orchestra draws together the best young classical-music players from across the region in Hong Kong for a series of workshops and concerts in the city and elsewhere, featuring violin soloists Sarah Chang, Vadim Repin, Jan Mráček and piano soloist Gerhard Oppitz.
