#Pride2019 - June is LGBT+ Pride Month (US)

We at Gay Games 11 Hong Kong 2022 are proud to partner with the US-based Gay Games 11 Hong Kong 2022, in order to promote equality for all, community empowerment, and social change. In the US, June is widely celebrated as LGBT+ Pride Month in recognition of the Stonewall Riots which took place on June 28th 1969-- making this the 50th anniversary of this important celebration!.= Throughout the month of June people in cities across the Nation come together to show support for LGBT+ rights, culture, and their local communities.

During this month-long celebration, parades are a leading component-- attracting thousands of participants and supporters. The New York Pride Parade is one of the largest and most well known parades to take place, with an estimated 500,000+ people participating! Many smaller celebrations also take place-- in towns and cities all over the US you’ll find street festivals, community events, public speakers, and educational sessions-- all flooded with local LBGT+ people, advocates, and allies.

However Pride Month is more than parades and parties, it is a vital and important opportunity to raise awareness of current issues facing the LGBT+ community, raise awareness, promote equality for all, as well as encourage inclusiveness, within the mainstream society.  Pride Month is attracting worldwide attention, as various events are being hosted across the globe during this special month as a way of recognising the influence LGBT+ people have had around the world.

Be sure to attend The Asian Youth Orchestra’s Summer Festival, held in Hong Kong from 20 July to 8 August 2019, and Asian Performance Tour with performances in Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Nanjing, Hong Kong, Taipei, Chiayi City, Seoul, Fukuoka, Kumamoto and Tokyo from 9 August to 1 September 2019.

Whilst Hong Kong has a highly developed and sophisticated transport network, the average workers commute is about an hour and a half long each day-- mostly due to congestion, traffic, and a recent surge in vehicle ownership. Creating a Bespoke Style at La Elite Fashions

The demand for bespoke suits is rising within the younger generation-- not only to wear in the workplace, but also worn casually as a way to express individualism and promote self-expression. Here at La Elite Fashions we serve clients from a wide variety of cultures, people visiting Hong Kong from across the globe all stopping in our shop to be fitted for custom suits, shirts, trousers, sports jackets and more. The beauty of bespoke is that we are able to meet our clients individual requirements and unique tastes-- and we always strive to exceed expectations!

More casual styles, streetwear and sportswear, have risen in popularity recently, especially amongst our younger customers. We frequently see our American customers selecting brighter colors, while in comparison our more conservative Asian clients frequently select grey or black toned garments. We’ve found that double-stitched suits and suits with little inside pockets (perfect for holding passports) are also very popular with Asian men in particular.

One big tip we love to give our clients-- look through fashion magazines or photos online and on social media before stopping into our shop. Save the ones you like most and during your fitting show them to us. We can work together to replicate a suit that you really like, creating a new look, a new style, made just for you -- a true bespoke experience. If you already have a suit or unique garment you LOVE, please bring it into us! We can also replicate your favourite jacket, trousers, hunting vest, sportswear etc. We are very flexible and work hard to please our valued customers.

Stop by La Elite Fashions today at 1-E, Mody road, Tsim Sha Tsui Kowloon, Hong Kong (MTR Exit: N5, Opposite to Holiday Inn Golden Mile Hotel on Mody Road). You can also reach us at 2368 0040, or email laelite@netvigator.com

Growing your Company? Hire the Best and Brightest with these tips

Imagine this? Your business is booming and you’ve reached ‘the glass ceiling’ in your area. You are ready to expand! By hiring and offering the best candidates places in your company will not only keep your company afloat but help it thrive.

Hiring new staff is one of the most important steps to expansion success, the people behind your project, your new business extension or even keeping your current established company’s foothold in the market is critical. In summary, hiring the right people equals success while the wrong people… well let's not focus on that. But how do you hire the best and brightest to help your business succeed over your competitors? What’s the magic formula?

Short Answer, there is no “magic” formula. It can be very difficult to find that perfect person (or persons) that will work well with your business model, management style, and current team members. But there are a few steps you can take to see if someone is a good fit for your startup team.

Thoroughly review their resume.
When hiring the perfect person for your business be sure to not only scan their resume but follow up on it. Call people of references, call former employers… basically make sure the person you’re about to hire is who they claim to be. This can save you many, many future headaches.

Decide exactly what position(s) you are hiring for
Before you start interviewing the hundreds of potential aspiring individuals wanting a position in your company, take a step back to go back to your origins: What did you want your business to achieve? What’s in your business plan? and then, define what type of people you need to hire. Do you need a manager to lead a team? An accountant? A sales clerk or a shipping expert? Once you establish your requirements it will be easier to hire the right person(s)-- which keeps your business productive and profitable!

Hire Locally
New location, new market and most importantly new customers! It’s especially important to hire locally when you are expanding internationally, as your new local colleagues can help you navigate the new territory-- including fielding local customs, holidays, and even the climate can make a huge impact depending on your business!

Start thinking about how you can implement one or more of these strategies to put your company on the fast track to expansion today.

If you need to be your most productive self, listening to your favorite classical pieces has been shown to lower cortisol levels, thus leading to stress reduction and lower anxiety levels. Studies noted that this was particularly true of selections with
a regular rhythm or low pitch. Three calming pieces you may enjoy listening to are:

Symphony No. 2 – Adagio (iii), Rachmaninov
‘By the Banks of Green Willow’, George Butterworth
At Church’, Slovak Suite, Vítězslav Novák

In addition, listening to classical music has been shown to enhance brain power, as well as productivity. Have you heard of the “Mozart effect”? In a study by the University of Maryland, a group of radiologists reported a sharper memory and increased accuracy when Baroque pieces were played in hospital reading rooms.

With easy access to the internet and a variety of devices to listen from, there’s really never been a better time to brighten up your daily commute with music. Give it a try, and let us know your results! We always love to hear comments from our fans and followers.
