Engaging and Understanding Your Social Media Audience

In need of a digital transformation? Interested in boosting your social media performance and beating out your competitors? The answer is simple: You need to connect with your social media audience, and the way to do this is with social media marketing. Social media marketing includes publishing relevant content, and increasing engagement, which in turn, grows your follower base, and thus generates sales (or other business goals, depending on your industry/organization).
Ideally you should look to hire a social media agency, like PRDA— our 5-4-3-2-1 methodology has been utilized and implemented more than any other in Asia! But to get you started, here are a few tips and tricks for your social media toolkit.
Have you ever wondered why people share certain social media content more than others? Why certain posts/videos/images go viral? Figuring out the reasons behind what your key audience wants can help you create the best original content for your brand– giving you the best bang for your buck. Here are a few of the top reasons people share posts:
  • Helpful content that could improve the lives of others; such as guides, recipes or how-to videos.
  • Content that defines who they are, that showcases their “idealized online persona”; create content that your followers will be proud to share with others.
  • To connect with others and/or grow relationships; look for ways to help your audience connect with other, such as asking them to tag other users in the comments or encourage sharing– perhaps with some sort of sponsored contest or prize at stake.
Never Underestimate the Power of SEO
Building your SEO strategy starts with figuring out what keywords your target audience uses on a regular basis. One of the easiest ways to start building your keyword list is to monitor your competition and see what phrases and keywords they are using.
Design Your Engagement Strategy
Once you have your keyword list, and have your various social media platforms set up and such, you need to build a strategy to best promote your brand, business, or organization. Strategy is key here, you need to be aware of the differences in platforms, what times are best to post in order to reach your target audience, what unique content to create and focus on to best engage with your followers and, of course, ensuring that the keywords you’ve gathered, or SEO, is utilized to its full capability.
It is a great deal of hard work, and very time consuming– but a proper social media strategy and platform setup, as well as daily posting and engagement, is key to getting ahead, and growing your business in today’s fast-paced, social media-based world. This is why many businesses seek to hire professionals– a social media agency that can take on the majority of the planning, setup, and daily engagement. In this way, the business owner can do what they are best at– running and growing their business.

NewLaw: The Solution for In-house Legal Teams

Progress brings us many things, including innovations and improved methodologies in how professional services firms can deliver resourcing and consulting solutions to in-house legal teams. Having set themselves apart from traditional law firms, NewLaw providers are offering a wide spectrum of solutions for in-house legal teams to enhance efficiencies, as well as lowering internal overhead costs, by providing flexible and cost effective consulting services to satisfy the ongoing and growing demands of in-house legal teams. Cognatio Law is a great example of this, and brings to Hong Kong an evolution of the flexible lawyering business model on which in-house legal teams have come to depend over the past 10 years.
In 2016, the In-House Congress Hong Kong hosted by Pacific Business Press discussed a study which showed that over 82% of Hong Kong’s in-house legal counsel have either used or would be willing to use a NewLaw alternative services provider. The demand for NewLaw firms is obviously there, and sorely needed, but there are still a few hurdles to overcome. These hurdles include resistance to change, inadequate support, and fiscal restrictions; namely the resistance to the upfront cost of hiring legal resources.

The benefits of hiring NewLaw firms are numerous though and and an increasing number of APAC based GCs are beginning to realise how having expert help at their fingertips can create an immense impact on being able to meet strict deadlines in a timely manner, without incurring either increased headcount or fixed costs generally associated with making permanent hires. By engaging a NewLaw firm, you will have the ability to utilise interim resources and specialised skills for temporary assignments and legal projects. It also enables your company to trial run a new team formation before allocating resources towards permanent headcount.
Cognatio Law offers a solutions-driven platform to assist in-house legal teams in Asia that are struggling to reduce costs, headcount and fixed expenses, whilst still meeting clients needs and deadlines, by bringing in seconding experts available for one-off assignments as well as ongoing time-critical and sensitive projects, without having to incur additional permanent employee costs. Our legal team has 40 years experience of working with legal, compliance and risk professionals across the Asia Pacific region. We would love to work with you, contact us today!

Should you lift light weights or go with heavy weights? Is it beneficial to incorporate both into your training? The truth is that any form of strength training can be beneficial– the key is to challenge yourself and to use good form. Good form is super important, as incorrect form can cause injuries, especially when you push yourself too hard and exceed your limits.
Whilst many believe that heavier weights is always better, that’s not always true. Both heavy and light weights are useful– the choice of which is better depends on your fitness goals.

Light weights are good for building endurance and stamina. If you’re training for any type of endurance sport, like hiking, distance running, obstacle courses, rowing, and triathlons, using light weights and higher reps are the way to go. For higher reps, you want to be able to lift a weight for at least 15 reps or more. But if you can hit 30 reps without any difficulty, then the weight is too light, and you need to increase it. Even though you’re lifting light, you still need to train the muscles and feel some sort of fatigue afterwards.
Heavy weights help you target specific muscle groups, developing strength and power. If you’re looking to be able to squat your bodyweight, bench press an impressive amount, or sculpt a specific part of your anatomy, then lifting heavier weights can get you the results you’re looking for. You do not need to do as many reps either– so lifting heavy can be very time efficient.
Here are some basic guidelines, though it can always be helpful to consult with a personal trainer for best results.
If your primary goal is:
Endurance Training: Do 12 or more reps per set.
Muscle Gain: Do 6 to 12 reps per set.
Increase Strength: Do 6 or fewer reps per set.

The Diffеrеnсе Bеtwееn an Orсhеѕtrа, a Symphony, and a Philharmonic

Different соmbinаtiоnѕ оf muѕiсiаnѕ are given diffеrеnt nаmеѕ, based mоѕtlу on реrѕоnnеl, inѕtrumеntаtiоn, аnd the style оf muѕiс рlауеd. The Asian Youth Orchestra, Asia’s premier pre-professional orchestra, shares the differences below:
Dеfinitiоn of Orchestra
A group оf musicians that ѕit together аnd play vаriоuѕ muѕiсаl inѕtrumеntѕ аrе known as аn оrсhеѕtrа.
An orchestra, traditionally, iѕ made uр оf thе following: ѕtringѕ (violins, viоlаѕ, сеllоѕ, bаѕѕ), brass (trumpets, trombones, french horns), woodwinds (clarinet, oboe, bаѕѕооn, flutеѕ, piccolos), аnd реrсuѕѕiоn (ѕnаrе drum, bass drum, cymbals, miѕс. percussion inѕtrumеntѕ). Although thеrе аrе exceptions, an оrсhеѕtrа рlауѕ mоѕtlу ѕуmрhоniс muѕiс (Mozart, Bасh, Bееthоvеn, еtс.) аnd mоѕt оftеn реrfоrmѕ in a соnсеrt setting. Mоѕt оrсhеѕtrаѕ are seated thе same wау with the violins аnd violas on thе соnduсtоr’ѕ lеft, сеllоѕ to his right, woodwinds behind thе ѕtringѕ, brаѕѕ in bасk tо thе соnduсtоr’ѕ right, аnd percussion, back center. Itѕ ԛuitе соmmоn thаt a рiаnо iѕ inсludеd tо the соnduсtоr’ѕ immеdiаtе lеft. A ѕоlоiѕt typically takes this position as wеll.
The аvеrаgе ѕizе оf an orchestra iѕ 75 tо 100 рlауеrѕ. Smаllеr grоuрѕ of 50 or lеѕѕ are оftеn called Chamber Orchestra’s, whilst Symphony Orсhеѕtrа’s are a lаrgеr оrсhеѕtrа frequently boasting more than 100 players.

Whаt iѕ a Sуmрhоnу Orсhеѕtrа?
A symphony orchestra can boast more than 100 players, who are divided into strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion. As the name suggests, they play “symphonies”- heavy pieces that typically require 18 to 25 different instruments. Consider the heavy classical music from the 1800’s, such as Beethoven, Brahms, and Wagner. One of the oldest ѕуmрhоnу оrсhеѕtrаs, founded in 1904, iѕ the London Sуmphоnу Orсhеѕtrа.
In essence, if an orchestra is big enough to play a symphony, it’s a symphony orchestra.
Whаt iѕ a Philharmonic Orсhеѕtrа?
But wait… it is a little more confusing than that, because in essence a ѕуmрhоnу оrсhеѕtrа and рhilhаrmоniс orchestra are the same thing. Both have approximately the same instruments, same number of musicians and can play the same(or similar) music. Why then are there 2 different titles?
The different titles exist simply to differentiate multiple ensembles in the same location. For example in New York you’ll find both the Brooklyn Philharmonic and the Brooklyn Symphony. Same type of orchestra, but different names so that people won’t confuse them.
Sуmрhоnу Orсhеѕtrа vs Philhаrmоniс Orchestra is essentially a choice of identity– what one wishes to call oneself and/or what is available depending on your locale.
