Pink Dot originally began in Singapore, as Pink Dot SG. It was intended as a way to show support for the community’s quest for diversity, inclusiveness and the freedom to love. Needless to say, it was a smashing success!

Hong Kong held its first Pink Dot June 15, 2014 -- also a success! In 2016 over 10,000 attended Hong Kong’s Pink Dot LGBT+ diversity and equality carnival.  Co-organised by BigLove Alliance, Pink Alliance and Covenant of the Rainbow, Pink Dot Hong Kong is one of Hong Kong’s most anticipated LGBT+ events each year.

#GGHK2022’s Village Head Abby Lee is Pink Dot HK co-director and has over 10 years of experience in organising LGBT+ events.

“We were glad to see that people loved it and that Pink Dot evolved from a fairly simple outdoor concert in the name of love to a true destination representative of the diversity of not only the LGBT+ community but of our allies: friends, family and colleagues, even our pets.”
-Abby Lee after 2016 Pink Dot HK

We simply can’t wait to see what this year’s Pink Dot HK brings!
Hosting the Gay Games will bring many exciting opportunities to Hong Kong. It offers an opportunity to learn from existing international LGBT+ sports organisations, and the ability to use this knowledge to evolve into formal LGBT+ sports organisations and become future members of the International Federation of Gay Games. Gay Games Hong Kong will be an empowering experience for LGBT+ athletes and communities in all parts of Asia to participate on a level playing field with everyone else. It was a grand day! Such a rare opportunity for the orchestra members to get so close to an airplane, particularly a brand new CX Airbus A350!

Richard Pontzious, AYO Founder and Artistic Director, stood at the podium, spotlighting on Hong Kong’s commitment to education, youth, and great music. A proud moment where Hong Kong business and culture melded seamlessly together for the delivery of the new A350, with representatives from Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Brussels, Cathay Pacific CEO Rupert Hogg, local Toulouse dignitaries and several members of the media from Hong Kong, Taiwan, and China in attendance. Not to mention the standing ovation the Asian Youth Orchestra received from the 600 guests who filled the dazzlingly lit concert hall later that evening! This was also the first time Airbus has had a symphony orchestra perform in their Event Center.

Know Your Target Audience: PRDA's Tips for Social Media Success

Understanding your audience is essential to social media success. And a few basic psychology principles is the best way to accomplish this. Asia's most successful and leading social media agency, Prosperity Research Digital Agency(PRDA), offers a variety of social media marketing services to their clients. The experts at PRDA can assist your business in knowing who your customers are, what they like and what will best increase their response to ad-campaigns and brand-generated content.
Here are few of the most important concepts you can put to work in your social media strategy.

prda1.jpg
Know Where and How Your Customers Spend Their Time
According to studies, the majority of internet users spend at least 30% of their time on social media.  Currently, YouTube leads the pack with most an average of 40 minutes spent in a day, followed by Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, and Twitter. Internet users also spend time reading emails, playing online games, reading blogs and more.

To find your audience, search for your competitors online, and take time to browse their social media pages. What content seems to be best received? Shared? Are they video, photo’s, articles, what subjects are being covered? All of this data, plus more, is key to planning your social media strategy and helping you delegate where you want your advertising money spent.

Create Content That Deeply Connects With Your Audience
Users typically go on the internet to do three things; search for information; to perform actions such sending emails, or work-related activities, and lastly for entertainment.

Currently, internet users are going on Facebook and YouTube to watch videos. Could generating fun, educational videos about your brand engage your audience? Definitely. But this is often cost-prohibitive for new small businesses.

Whatever you decide to post on your social media platforms, track it. Collect and interpret the data- find your posts with the most likes, your video’s with the most views and know the people who are loving them and leaving positive feedback. These people are your audience, and future content should be similar or more engaging. When done correctly you will slowly build up your fan base, and create awareness for your brand.

prda1b.jpg
Facebook Ads
Facebook ads are highly recommended once you know your audience. You can tailor the ads to target a particular geographic region or demographics (age, gender). You can create separate ads for each segment and run them at the same time. After running the ads, which are low-budget with prices as little as $1 per day, you can measure the conversion. You get insights on the people who viewed the ad, and the number who followed the link to your website. This allows you to find the audience that is most receptive to your brand and decide an appropriate future course of action for posts and marketing efforts.

The bottom line: Understanding your audience is the best, most effective way of creating social media content. Ensure that you have entertaining content that prospective customers will love and share. Need to slay the competition with the perfect Social Media Marketing strategies? All of the premium pork shipped to Hong Kong from Taste of Scan comes from one Nordic Farm, the Antikainen pig farm. Earlier in 2017, a major decision was made, and since mid-February 2017, they have produced all of their flower fed pork completely free from antibiotics. The Antikainen pig farm is situated in the municipality of Aura near Turku, Finland and is one of the Taste of Scan’s most trusted breeders.
And we must mention that for over 5 years, Taste of Scan’s farmers, including the Antikainens, have worked closely with both the Natural Resources Institute Finland and the University of Helsinki to produce award-winning flower fed, Omega-3 pork. Thanks to this extensive research and collaboration, the resulting succulent, nutrient-rich premium pork is now both affordable and accessible to many in Hong Kong.

Taste of Scan carries a strong reputation for quality, conscious farming practices, animal welfare and smaller scale production. The Antikainen pig farm enjoys pure, clean air and water year-round. This along with investments they have made into developing meticulous farming practices has ensured that they produce the safest and most tasty meat there is. Nordic farmers raise, care for and feed their animals just like they have done for centuries, in small family farms run in harmony with what nature brings.
Be sure to stop by ParknShop to try Taste of Scan’s delicious, juicy and tender pork!
