Executive Chef Jaakko Sorsa carefully prepared mini-appetizers of his Slow-Roasted Pork with Apple Mustard recipe, using Scan flower-fed pork, for shoppers at Taste ParknShop in Kowloon recently. This was the launch of Scan pork into ParknShop Supermarkets across Hong Kong! To further celebrate, Scan is having tastings of their tender and tasty pork every weekend this year at various ParknShop locations across Hong Kong. Please follow Scan on Facebook for updates on specific location details.

Scan’s award-winning flower-fed pork has been featured in over 40 restaurants across Hong Kong since their debut in January 2016. And now you can make this delicious, extremely tender Slow-Roasted Pork with Apple Mustard recipe at home! We have the recipe for you below.

Whether you cook your pork on the stovetop, bake it in the oven, or grill it, be sure you're not making one of these common mistakes the next time pork chops are on the menu.

  • Take your Scan pork out of the fridge about 20 minutes prior to cooking. Bringing the meat up to room temperature helps it cook more evenly throughout.
  • Seasoning your meat with salt before cooking is essential to bring out the meat's natural flavors. Season generously. You may also consider using a brine, even a very short brine (30 minutes!) will improve the taste and texture of the meat.
  • Cook your pork until the internal temperature reaches 65°C / 145°F (with a light pink center) followed by a 3-minute rest time.
