Temperatures are rising… Time for a new Summer Suit!


 
Summer is here once again and it’s time to order yourself a new summer suit, trousers, shirts and other bespoke garments. At La Elite Fashions, we have a wide variety of lightweight and comfortable fabrics available that our experienced tailors will transform into a perfectly fitted summer suit. You will love the way you look AND still stay moderately cool despite the summer weather.

It’s time to ditch the hot and heavy tweed, wool and cashmere suit and opt for a light weight material like Linen, Cotton, and/or Chambray. By selecting a lightweight material, your new suit will keep you cooler in the summer weather. We also recommend you ask your bespoke tailor for an unlined or half lined suit, which will allow for more ventilation and coolness in the Hong Kong heat. (Or wherever you reside, La Elite Fashions has loyal customers visit from around the world!)

Here’s some details to help you select the correct fabric for you, but as always, please discuss this with our tailors-- we are always happy to make recommendations!


Linen
Linen is one of the most classic fabric materials for a lightweight summer suit and is very popular for being a lightweight and breathable fabric. Linen is also moisture resistant-- making is a perfect material for summer.

Cotton
Cotton is a versatile choice and can be worn during both cool weather and summer time. The cotton fabric allows your suit to have an enjoyable and comfortable fit and feel. While not quite as lightweight and breathable as linen, cotton is still a good choice of material for many men and women.

Chambray
Chambray is a lightweight fabric material that is very comfortable and perfect for the summer. Sometimes chambray fabric is confused with denim material, and it typically selected for a more casual look. Which may be the perfect style for a summer suit! Your call.

Remember that choosing the correct color is also very important when it comes to staying cool in warmer weather. Light colors reflect the sun and dark colors absorb the heat. Light gray, baby blue, khaki, and some shades of red / maroon are some of the most popular colors selected during the summer. Remember: Details matter. GYROTONIC® Level 2, Program 2 Pre-Training Course
This three day course introduces Gyrotonic Trainers to the Level 2, Program 2 exercises and prepares them for the Gyrotonic Level 2, Program 2 Course. Students will complete the level 2, program 2 course within one year after completing this pre-training course.
Prerequisite: Must be a certified Gyrotonic Level 1 Trainer (having successfully complete the final certificate course) for a minimum of 4 months before registering for this course.

GYROKINESIS® Happy Moves Course

Content includes: Stool sequence (60 min) + Standing Wave sequence + Leonardo Sequence (15 min)

Exposure of Tolerance: LGBT+ in Southeast Asia

All of us at Gay Games 11 Hong Kong 2022 are proud to support and celebrate the opening of the largest-ever exhibit of regional contemporary art that explores lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual, and queer creative history in Southeast Asia and beyond! Curated by the charismatic Patrick Sun and the SunPride Foundation, the exhibit will open on 23 November 2019 at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre and is the second stop of SunPride Foundation’s touring exhibition.

Patrick Sun is a Gay Games 11 Hong Kong 2022 Advisor, as well as being a leader of LGBT+ Art in Asia. Hong Kong is well-known as a city of diverse cultures, hence events like the world-renowned Art Basel Hong Kong show and market, which attracts an overall attendance of 80,000 people to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) each year.

Art and Culture is one of the key pillars of the Gay Games.


2019 AYO Auditions and Tour Information

Auditions have ended and we have selected the talented, hardworking individuals who will be awarded the chance of a lifetime! A full scholarship program study under the magical batons of Asian Youth Orchestra Founder Richard Pontzious and the sensational Joseph Bastian, along with an exceptional artist-faculty.
 
Congratulations to all successful candidates!  We are very pleased to hear so many good musicians this year, pushing standards higher and higher, making it especially hard for us to make our final decision. On behalf of the audition committees, we want to thank everyone who took the auditions.
 
The Asian Youth Orchestra Summer Festival will be held in Hong Kong from 20 July to 8 August 2019. The Asia Tour Performance Schedule will immediately follow from 9 August to 1 September 2019.

SPECTROSYNTHESIS II Exposure of Tolerance: LGBT+ in Southeast Asia


 
All of us at Gay Games 11 Hong Kong 2022 are proud to support and celebrate the opening of the largest-ever exhibit of regional contemporary art that explores lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual, and queer creative history in Southeast Asia and beyond! The exhibit will open on 23 November 2019 at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC) and is the second stop of Sunpride Foundation’s touring exhibition.

SPECTROSYNTHESIS II: Exposure of Tolerance: LGBT+ in Southeast Asia is a huge collaboration featuring artists from across Southeast Asia and beyond and will feature spectacular works created by over 50 artists-- including new works that have never been shown before! (This is after the huge success of the acclaimed SPECTROSYNTHESIS: Asian LGBTQ Issues and Art Now, which was presented in Taiwan in 2017.)

The exhibit has been carefully curated by the BACC’s curatorial team, led by Mr. Chatvichai Promadhattavedi, who is the founding member of the BACC, and sponsored and co-organized by Patrick Sun and the Sunpride Foundation.

Patrick Sun is a Gay Games 11 Hong Kong 2022 Advisor, as well as being a leader of LGBT+ Art in Asia. Hong Kong is well-known as a city of diverse cultures, hence events like the world-renowned Art Basel Hong Kong show and market, which attracts an overall attendance of 80,000 people to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) each year. The Gay Games are more than “just” another sporting event after all… there are many many cultural and artistic and even musical aspects to explore! Everything from martial arts displays to artist exhibits to choral concerts and of course delicious local food to taste and enjoy. Art and Culture is one of the key pillars of the Gay Games.

On 27 March 2019, The #GGHK2022 Team joined Patrick Sun and his team for a celebration reception (which coincided with Art Central and Art Basel in Hong Kong) as he announced his upcoming Bangkok exhibit, Asia's largest exhibition of LGBT+ art. The SPECTROSYNTHESIS II reception was spectacular, full of vibrant colors and energetic vibes. Exactly why Patrick Sun was selected to be Gay Games 11 Hong Kong 2022 Advisor.
