Three things you can do to make Halloween extra special!

With Halloween fast approaching, you should really come up with new, good, cool and really fun ideas to make your Halloween celebration this year extra special! Here are three easy to follow things you can do to keep your Halloween party guests happy. Let them praise your party organizing skills with these helpful tips:

1. Ask your guests to come in their coolest Halloween costumes. Or better yet, ask them to come in new and preferably handmade Halloween costumes. While it’s all right if they come in rented costumes, your party and your guests will be more entertained and amused if they also come in handmade, hand sewn or original costumes. These costumes can be conversational pieces themselves! The guests can mix and mingle and ask each other how they came up with the costumes and if there’s a story behind them. Most of the time, Halloween party guests choose costumes that either represent a childhood memory or a favorite cartoon character.

2. Come up with great Halloween-related parlor games. Personalize these parlor games. If you want to do something like Pictionary, perhaps you can use trivia that have something to do with Halloween or with some of your selected guests. You can also give away Halloween themed prizes during these parlor games.

3. Serve unique yet very delicious fresh fruit arrangements. Or better yet, serve Halloween fruit baskets made by Edible Arrangements Hong Kong. They have just announced their new Halloween creations which are all fun, creative and definitely saliva - inducing! Check out their new Halloween creations over at The Halloween fruit basket collection include the Black Cat Bouquet with half dipped strawberries, the Black Cat Bouquet, the Batty Bouquet and the Batty Bouquet with half of the strawberries dipped in chocolate. All these Halloween themed fresh fruit arrangements will definitely add more “spooky” feel to your Halloween party!

Mr. Gay Hong Kong 2011 winner set to be spokesperson against bullying in schools

Winning the Mr. Gay Hong Kong 2011 title will not only mean great prizes which include a cover and a 6 page spread in Dim Sum Magazine, a model’s portfolio by a noted photographer and year long professional hair styling services.

More importantly, this year’s Mr. Gay Hong Kong will be the official spokesperson against homophobic bullying in schools. This means that whoever will garner the top prize during the much awaited pageant will have a greater, more meaningful social responsibility ahead of him.

The Mr. Gay Hong Kong 2011 winner is expected to not only be a role model but to also help advocate equality and the upholding of rights for the members of the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transsexual) community. This may be quite a challenge for many but for pageant finalists Edmund LEE Ho Chun (21, fashion design student), Jimmy WONG Chun (26, dancer), Jonathan Bridge HUDSON (28, travel writer) and Ricky CHAU Ka Wing (23, sales agent), this will most probably just be an extension of what they have done, are doing and will still continue to do.

The Mr. Gay Hong Kong 2011 finale will be held on October 15, 2011 (Saturday), 7 PM at Bisous, 9/F LKF Tower, 33 Wyndham Street, Central, Hong Kong. Pageant judges include Marisa Zeman (daughter of Alan Zeman and designer at Nude Is Rude), Cantopop princess Juju Chan, superstar drag queen Coco Pop, HKMagazine publisher and Asia City Media Group country manager Greg Crandall, choreographer and Zoo bar owner Tony Wong, 2011 Mr. Gay World Francois Nel and film festival director Joe Lam.

Tickets are now on sale. Advance tickets are HK $180.00 and HK $250.00 at the door, inclusive of one standard drink. Tickets can be delivered for free within Central. For inquiries, please call 9660 5552 (Eng) or 9281 2066 (Chi)

Fun and cute BPA-free products for your kids

Planning to go on a shopping trip for your kids and for the home? We here at Hocusadabra have new and exciting BPA-free products that you might want to purchase for your kids. But first, let’s track back a little bit and emphasize exactly why it’s important that we buy BPA-free products.

Bisphenol A or BPA is an organic compound with two phenol functional groups. It is used to make polycarbonate plastic and epoxy resins. In 2010, the United States Food and Drug Administration or FDA released reports about how dangerous products with BPA were. If you guys remember, there were a lot of products that were taken off the market because of that report. In September 2010, Canada declared BPA as a toxic substance. These days, Canada as well as the European Union ban the use of BPA in baby bottles.

And because we here at Hocusadabra do not just take things like that lightly, we passionately advocate the purchase and use of BPA-free products. After all, we’re talking about the health and safety of our children and the protection of our homes as a whole, right?

This is the very reason why we currently have fun and really cute BPA-free products in our online store now. Our new arrivals include:

1. The Yoga Dog BPA-free plate - designed in California and made out of 100 percent recycled food grade plastic. You and your kids will love the original design and quirky message made by Freddy Deane!

2. Elephant BPA-free plate and bowl set - available in turquoise and fuschia, this pretty eye candy of a plate and bowl set even has a little extra space for a message which means it can also be a great gift idea!

We have a lot more other BPA-free products on our site so do visit! Our official Hocusadabra store is safe and secure and we accept credit card and Paypal payments. Order your BPA-free products online today! We deliver anywhere on the planet!

Eco-Friendly and Efficient Business Through Cloud Computing

Cloud computing seems to be all the rage recently in the world of Information Technology. A lot of conventional services are going viral such as online fax and word processors. These services encourage “Green IT” and environmental sustainability. The most important question most people ask is “How to bring up the business from the ground into the Cloud?”

One of the major reasons is cost efficiency. Most companies are changing into cloud computing in order to uphold its environmental responsibility that cloud computing facilitates. This is really challenging. According to the most updated study from WSP Environment & Energy, companies that changed into cloud computing, decrease their per-transaction costs by just about 95%. By eliminating the need for the hardware and resources that physical servers entail in addition to other physical entities such as backups, anti-virus, network cables, etc., the Cloud assists most companies cut back on expenses. Through Cloud Computing, this also allows companies to lessen the energy bill. The cost of running the servers combined with the cost of cooling these machines, means that Data Centers lose energy efficiency. Having computation in the cloud eliminates these energy requirements.

Another reason for going virtual is the scalability feature of cloud computing. As soon as your business improves, you can readily arrange for further server space in order to accommodate the growth without ongoing capital investment every time you add a few employees or a new division or office. As an added benefit -a number of users can access programs from varied locales, allowing for “increased equipment utilization” and resource sharing, especially across time zones.

As you may or may not know, cloud computing is not something that serves as an alternative. Nowadays, it is basically a necessity. Cloud computing is extremely flexible and permits the users to redesign servers to their benefit, tailor them to their specific needs and reduce energy costly features. It offers young companies to be innovative and be more advanced.
