The
MD902 Explorer is manufactured by MD Helicopters, who pride themselves
on their passion for superior products, and innovations. They were the
first to include the no tail rotor system (NOTAR) in their designs. And
now, the MD902 is one of the first helicopters of its type in the Hong
Kong region. This unique aircraft is a multipurpose twin-engine
helicopter that utilizes a composite fully articulated Main Rotor
System, giving it very low vibration characteristics, ensuring up to 6
passengers can ride in complete comfort, in the Explorers spacious
cabin.
The
MD 902 Explorer sets high standards for safety, performance,
affordability, and dependability. With its sleek aerodynamic lines,
flexibility, and high performance, the MD 902 Explorer has a greater
operating capability at maximum internal weight for hover, speed, and
maneuverability in all wind directions. Powered by two powerful Pratt
& Whitney Canada PW207E turbine engines, the MD 902 Explorer
features anti-torque control provided by the patented NOTAR® system,
which does away with the need for a noisy tail rotor, making it one of
the quietest helicopters in its class.
The
MD902 Explorer has also been specifically engineered for safety, having
been tested to withstand impacts up to 30Gs at 30 feet-per-second. No
other light or medium-twin helicopter even comes close to that
capability!
